Spend a week with the Elmwood Park Zoo Zookeepers and discover the secrets of their very unique careers. Go behind the scenes and see first-hand how the animals are fed, trained and cared for. Through various presentations and activities, you'll learn what it takes to work as a zookeeper and understand the importance of wildlife conservation.

Riverbend Summer Exploration Day Camp
Riverbend Summer Exploration Day Camp June 11th to August 31st Since 1974, Riverbend has been connecting children to the natural world. Riverbend Summer Exploration Camp provides children the opportunity to discover the world around them in a safe, natural and fun way. Professional educators, live animals and our 30-acre nature preserve provide the perfect backdrop for learning science and having fun. Week long camp experiences are available for children ages 4-14. Programs bring campers into contact with the wonders of the outdoors through nature exploration, hands-on activities, hikes, games, crafts and more. Experiences for older campers can also include field trips, overnight camp-outs at Riverbend, and camping trips to some of Pennsylvania's most beautiful state parks. In addition to Riverbend regular camps, we also offer special programs for kids who are looking for something a little different, including Wilderness Survival Camp and Sustainability Camp. Ramblers
Campers Aged 4-10
The Schuylkill Center's Nature Ramblers Summer Camp is an
environmentally based day camp located on over 300 acres. The Schuylkill
Center's grounds encompass a wide variety of habitats, including an
organic farm, five ponds, wetlands, streams, pine plantation,
greenhouse, secondary forests, and meadows. For over 10 years our
skilled staff of naturalists has led camp programs that have given
children the opportunity to explore this natural world through hands-on
discoveries, hiking excursions, art experiences and field trips.
Weeklong sessions and half-day options provide flexibility for summer
scheduling.
